More pictures from the park!

Day at the Park

We had an 80 degree day this last Sunday! It was gorgeous. We went to Hawkeye Park with John, Julie, Ryder, Gunner, Jen, Kory, Claire, Sara, Nate, Deana, and Harrison. It was a perfect day for kite flying. I loved watching Landon. He was loving the kites, hitting the balls with golf clubs, watching the remote control plane, and many other boy activities.
The day turned hilarious when Nate began flying his dad's remote control plane. It was very windy, and ended up getting caught in the wind. He was unable to control it, and it landed in the middle of the pond. Since the plane wasn't his, he decided he better retrieve it. He jumped into the nasty pond and swam out to get it. We were all cracking up. He was soaked with nasty pond water.
It was great to get out and enjoy the weather after feeling so cooped up all winter! I can't wait for more days like that!

Landon at Nap Time!

Last week I laid Landon down for his nap. I thought he was asleep. As I was running around the house, I heard the little man playing in his room. I ran upstairs to scold him, and tell him he needed to go to sleep. I went upstairs to find him completely nude reading a book. I really tried to keep a straight face, but it was too hilarious. I asked him where his clothes were. He said, "Over there." He was pointing to the other side of the bed. I quickly ran and grabbed my camera. It probably encouraged him a little, but I had to capture the moment!

Reading my Magazine!

Ryan and I crack up at how Landon reminds us so much of a little Ryan. He has these little inserts in his DVDS. He is obsessed with them. He gets them out all the time and looks through them over and over again. The other day he was eating his breakfast looking through his cars "magazine!" TOO CUTE!

The First Attack!

One night, about a week after we brought Jude home, Allie & Grant were over. Ryan & Grant were playing video games. I laid Jude on a blanket in the living room. I went in to clean up in the kitchen. I was working away when I heard Jude start wailing. I looked in the living room, and saw Landon had rolled Jude up in the blanket and was laying on top of him. I yelled, "Ryan" as he was closer. We were both scared to death. Luckily, he was alright. We felt a little bad disciplining Landon, because we weren't sure if he was trying to play with him or if he was being mean. It's a big adjustment being a big brother. Thankfully we haven't had any more events like this!

Poor Jude!

While we were in the hospital with Jude the pediatricians noticed that he had a birth defect called hip dysplasia. This is most common in first born, girls, and breech babies. Jude of coarse was breech. The told us that the problem might go away on its own before he was 2 weeks. It didn't go away for Jude. We took him to the pediatrician. After only 2 days out of the hospital he had gained 10 oz!! She told us he would need to see a pediatric orthopedic doctor. We went to see her, and I had no idea what we were in for. He has to wear a sling/harness to hold his legs in the frog leg position. She told me that he would have to wear this for 6 weeks. I am not allowed to remove it even for a bath. CRAZY!!! It is driving me a little nuts. His legs are creased together at the hip, so he has a yeasty smelling rash. I feel really bad for him, but he doesn't seem to mind. The pictures tell all!
