Memorial Weekend in Minnesota!!

We were able to spend a few days with Ryan's family this weekend. It was so fun! Nathan and Chrissie were there from Colorado. It is very rare that we have the entire family together, so we had a blast. We went to the Minnesota zoo on Saturday. It was fun teaching Landon animal noises. He really liked saying, "Mooo" to the cows. Landon was thrilled that Grandma let him play with her vacuum all weekend. Hilarious...I think the vacuum ran more in 2 days then it does in 4 weeks! He loves it! He sat with Grandpa Jim and looked at lawn mowers in different magazines and everytime he saw one he turned into a broken record saying, "Lawn mower!" We loved seeing everyone, and wish we were able to have the family together more often!

Crazy Day!!

So last Friday I woke up thinking it was going to be a normal day. I began cleaning and Landon was playing downstairs...begging me to turn on the vacuum. After awhile, He decided to go play upstairs. I went to check on him and he had decided to dump an entire box of honey nut cheerios on the floor. I was trying to explain to him that he shouldn't do that and he just kept smiling at me and eating the cheerios! That was the first crazy event of the day.
Later, I went to play date. We had a great time playing in the slip 'n' slide at Julie's house. Katie had to run out to her old job for a party and asked if I would watch Hallie for an hour or two. I said that would be fine. I ventured out from Julie's to TJ Max with Hallie and Landon. They were doing pretty well...just the usual hitting each other in the face...that sort of thing. I finally had Hallie walk, so that Landon would leave her alone. She is now potty trained, so I asked her if she needed to go potty. She said, "No, no potty." I didn't argue with her. Next thing I know I look down and she has peed her pants. Katie didn't send extra clothes, so I headed to the girl section and bought her the cutest thing available (which wasn't much). I told her we would change her once we were at the car.
So once we made it to the van, I straped Landon into his seat so he couldn't cause a problem. It was pretty warm, so I decided to remote start the car, so Landon wouldn't start sweating. He sat in his seat watching Elmo while I changed Hallie outside the car. I then shut his door and headed to the other side of the van. I straped Hallie in and shut the door....and as it was shutting remembered my keys were inside!! All the doors were locked, because that is how the remote start works. I was freaking out because the car had already been running for 5 minutes and it shuts off after 10 minutes. I had no idea how I was going to get inside. I flagged someone down in the parking lot to borrow her cell phone. I tried Katie...no answer. The lady suggested that I call the Ankeny police department. I was able to get a hold of them and they told me they were sending someone. The whole time I was waiting I was trying to get Hallie to get out of her car seat and let me in...She kept saying, "No, no, no Lisa" in a very concerned tone. Landon started crying when the car turned off, and I was beginning to think I might have to break open a window. Right when I was thinking about looking around for something to break the window open the police officers showed up. They had it open in a minute!! I was relieved!! Hallie and Landon started crying, but were fine after a minute! It was a crazy day!!

Playtime at Mimi and Papa's house

We are so spoiled to have family close. Landon gets to go to my mom's house every Tuesday while Ryan and I are working. He loves it because he gets to play with Hallie and Harper! Katie took a few pictures this week! They are so hilarious to watch together. Landon and Hallie have officially started fighting. Landon likes to smack Hallie in the face...it's really not funny...but for some reason Katie and I have a hard time keeping a straight face for disciplinary action!

Grandma Kirkpatrick came to visit!!

Grandma Jeannie came down to visit last week. It was a lot of fun to see her! She brought Landon a special stool for his new big boy room...airplanes!! He loves moving it all around the house and sitting on it...and also tries standing on it! Pretty cute!

Minnesota for Mommy's Birthday!

Ryan surprised me with a trip to Minnesota for my birthday. It was a blast. We were able to stay downtown Minneapolis on Friday (April 9th) night while Grandpa and Grandma Kirkpatrick kept little Landon! It was fun for us to get time away and they loved having Landon! We were then able to spend the rest of the week end doing fun family events! It was a lot of fun. We finally took some pictures of Landon and Leyton! So cute!!

Landon is going to Daycare!!

We recently moved Landon to a daycare in Ankeny. We wanted him to have the opportunity to play with more children and have a learning environment! He is loving it. His teachers currently are Miss Kerri, Miss Leslie and Miss Mollie. They have been so helpful through his separation anxiety phase. Ryan and I have felt such a peace. It makes leaving them much easier!! Here are some pics of him with his backpack he takes to "school."

Landon is saying...
1. bird
2. bye bye
3. giraffe (according to Ryan)
4. "Don't know."
Landon is signing...
1. No... He made up his own sign for this! The cutest thing ever. He crinkles his nose and flicks it with his index finger! It is a hilarious expression!
2. Shrugging his shoulders when we ask "Where is the dog?"
Landon is doing...
1. climbing
2. running
3. Understanding commands, like "Let's go brush our teeth."
4. Loving reading books and has favorite books!

It's hilarious to see all that our little toddler learns daily. He is really adjusting well to his new daycare in Ankeny. They teach him new things every day they go. His daily report card makes us laugh!

Tulip Time 2010

We finally figured out the best way to experience Tulip Time...to go when the festival isn't going on! It was a gorgeous day today! We all had a lot of fun and didn't have dodge the crowds of people. The kids all loved playing at the wooden playground! Picture time was a little interesting...as you will see! Landon is on the move...it's tricky to get him to sit still for a picture! It's fun seeing the little adventurous boy in him! We will definitely go to Tulip time early next year!

Easter 2010

We spent lots of time with the family for Easter! It was so much fun getting to watch Landon hunt for eggs multiple times! I'm so glad we have such a loving, close family!
