The Mystery of the Missing Diaper!

Yesterday, Ryan and I decided to hang Christmas lights outside. I laid Landon down for his nap, and after about 20 minutes went to check on him. He wasn't asleep yet, but looked well on his way. I decided to go out and help Ryan with the lights. We were working away, and after about a half hour Landon opens the door out to the garage...butt naked! He had removed his pants and diaper. I was having a very hard time not laughing, so I let Ryan handle this parenting moment! He went back inside to lay Landon down again. He told me he found his pants, but was unable to find his diaper.
Later that night, we remembered we had never found the diaper. We started searching. We looked in his room. He recently has been hiding things in his drawers, so I peeked in there. No diaper. We went through his toy room and toy boxes. No diaper. We couldn't think of where else he would put it. As we were walking by his bathroom, I said to Ryan, "He wouldn't put it in his little potty would he?" As you can see below, We finally guessed right! Oh to be in the mind of a 2 year old!!

Present Time!

Landon's favorite gift...the vacuum!!! He was obsessed with this for days! I have a little helper coming up in the near future! I will have to pull this picture out in the future when he refuses to vacuum!

More Cake Fun!

Landon had enough when he bumped his leg on the table...I love Hallie's concerned look!!

Cake Time!

Everyone wanted to help Landon eat his cake! It was pretty hilarious! They all stripped down because I took his shirt off!!

More Piñata Fun!

More Elmo Fun!

Piñata Fun!

Landon's 2nd Birthday!!! Elmo fun!

I can't believe my little boy is 2!!! I have been amazed at how quickly time flies! We had quite the celebration with the family! All of the kids had a great time with the piñata, cake eating, and just hanging out. We have been so blessed to have this little man in our life. He makes our everyday more interesting.

Baby # 2...Another appointment!

I had another OB appointment, and was able to see the little one again! They weren't able to see the baby's whole spine at the first ultrasound, so they had to take another look. It was pretty cute...his/her hands were up by her face the entire time. Made it a little difficult to get good pictures. Everything looked perfect on the ultrasound. The biggest change was the ultrasound tech had one reading of heart rate around 128...the next reading was 148. Pretty crazy how quickly that can change. It was so reassuring knowing everything is still going well. It's amazing how you can love something you haven't even held. I can't wait to meet him/her!

Climbing out of bed!!!

Having a 2 year old brings on new adventures daily. About 2 months ago, while we were still living in our apartment in Urbandale, Landon started climbing out of his pack n play. I had to put him back in several times in a row. He began thinking it was a game, and it didn't help that we had company who thought it was hilarious! I wasn't sure if he would know how to get out in his crib when we moved him back. Ever since we moved back in, he has been greeting us every morning in our room. He knows how to get out!! How am I to contain him?!? Haha! Today he showed me how he gets out! Pretty crafty little man!

We have been staying in Urbandale since the house fire. One Sunday afternoon, we had lunch at Panera. After lunch, Ryan spotted a mini motorized car race. They race these little cars every Sunday at a Hobby Store in Urbandale. Landon loved it. Ryan said, "Maybe one day you and daddy can get one of these to race." It made me laugh and smile thinking of all the fun little hobbies my men will partake in! It's so wonderful to have an amazing husband...who loves his little guy with all his heart!

Vanderpool Apple Orchard Fun

Every year we go to the Center Grove Apple Orchard with all the Vanderpool's. The kids have a blast. It has been fun to watch what different activities they can do as they get older. The "older kids" have a blast as well. It's been great to start different traditions with our extended family. We are so blessed to have a close knit family. I thank God daily for the love of my family, and that he has allowed us so much time with one of the greatest Grandpa's alive!
