St Patrick's Day

So while we were out in Colorado we were talking with a few of out friends, Eric & Katie White, and Katie was telling us that St. Patricks Day at her house was very intense. They had a lot of fun traditions including making a trap to try to catch a leperchaun, making the milk turn green, etc. Ryan loved these ideas and decided we needed to start doing this since we are Irish. We didn't get to the trap this year, but he plans on doing this next year. This year when Landon woke up, and came down the stairs, Ryan yelled, "It's St. Patricks Day, and there is a leperchaun loose and he is turning all of milk green!" Landon said, "What?!?" Ryan repeated himself. Landon said, "Who is he?" Ryan had already put a few drops of food coloring in each of our milk glasses. We kept this theme up all day. It was pretty hilarious, and Landon was so curious about the leperchaun. It will be very fun to make a trap next year!

We also made our way down to the St. Patty's Day parade. It was not a great parade as they threw beads for the most part. The boys didn't get a lot of candy, and the entertainment wasn't great. It was still a fun way to spend the day together as a family!

More Park Fun

Fun @ the Park

I didn't think we would be having so many lovely days to go to the park at this time of the year! We went almost every day last week. Landon can't seem to get enough of it. We were able to meet up with some friends a couple times. He is getting so much more courageous the older he gets. Jude loves the wood chips, and tries to eat them! He almost got away with it a couple times!

More Jude's Birthday

More Jude's Birthday

Jude's Birthday Party!!

My little man turned 1 on March 1st!! It is unbelievable how quickly a year flies with kids. I remember as I was growing up my parents would say that all the time, and I would think they sounded old!! Now here I am saying it! I can't believe how much Jude has grown. He is getting around everywhere by means of crawling and pulling up. He hasn't mastered standing or walking. We are hoping that he will be able to make it down the aisle in May for Allie's wedding. He had his 1 year appointment this last Tuesday and weighed in at 22lbs 2oz (62%) and 30 inches long (54%). Head circumference was 18" (38%). He is on target for all of his milestones. We are hoping that he will start eating normal food soon, so we can quit buying the baby food.

We had his Birthday party on his actual birthday. We had about 25-30 people at our house for the big celebration. I am always grateful that we have our family so close, so they can be here to celebrate these special times. We missed the Kirkpatrick clan this time...we have way too many birthdays in March so it makes it hard to make it to all of the parties. Jude was very proper with his cake...he wanted a spoon to eat it. He wasn't sure what to think about the whole experience.

Overall, he had a great 1 year birthday. Ryan and I feel so blessed to have this little man! Our boys have brought us more joy than we could have ever imagined. We feel so blessed!

Hanging out with the Cousins!

I watched Katie's kids while she cleaned one day. It actually went really well. I wasn't sure what watching 5 kids would entail, but I think I could manage it for awhile. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't want to be doing it every day!

Super Bowl Party 2012!

Every year we head over to Chris and Ashley's to "watch" the super bowl. It consist mostly of eating tons of food!! The guys do watch the game, but the girls usually chat and make sure the children don't tear down the house. It's always fun to hang out and Chris and Ashley's because they have every cool toy a kid could want. The kids love it, and the mommies and daddies get a little break.

Sledding @ Uncle Kelly's and Aunt Teri's

We haven't had a lot of snow this year, so I made sure to get Landon out to sled when we had some snow a couple weeks ago. He has a little fear of it all, but still loves the loud 4 wheelers. It's interesting because I think that is one thing he has in common with his momma!! He is pretty cautious. It will be interesting to see if Jude is the same way.
